I am thinking of building a sauna in my basement. To save money, and to enjoy the project, I want to build it largely by myself. My plan is to frame in a small room, use proper insulation, and then use Western Red Cedar to cover the inside walls and build benches. A small vent will be built into the room. I will buy a door and heater. Does anyone know whether this is a good plan? Do I treat the cedar? Any tips?
