Sand finish

The best way to patch a sand finish plaster wall is to use RedTop Finish plaster (regular set) and have the painter add the sand into his paint. You'll find that the areas will match much better then using the sand in the finish plaster.

Don't use drywall mud over the plaster. It is incompatible and will eventually spall off and delaminate.
