Running the water

I don't usually recommend the run-the-hose idea because I am a big fan of conserving water where it's easy to do so. In defense of JJ's wanting to wait for a rain, I'd go further to say that unless the water is running into the house really bad in the absence of a rain, then go ahead and wait. For all I know, you have 6 gutter-systems on your home and running water a 1/2 hour x 6 = 3 hours of running water. That's a lot of water whether it comes from a public system or your own well.

I won't say any more about details but as he said, you can still extend your downspouts and check the slope and call in a home inspector. (Ashi *is* what you want.) Good luck!
