I have an old edwardian thats built against a hill. Over the years moisture and dirt silted under subfloor right up to the joists (no concrete slab, just earth). All rooms are affected with collapse of floor in some corners. I want to work one room at a time and remove subfloor, excavate area, lay down moisture barrier, build a cinderblock sillplate using rebar and lay subfloor on top attaching it to perimeter foundation.
Question, can I do this myself?
Some contractors suggest concrete floor
