Hi, Gang. On older doors, they were framed differently. Starting from the bottom on each side, you had a plinth block, then casing and a rosette at the top with casing going across the top connecting the 2 sides. Certainly, the easiest way is to duplicte another door in the same room or house. If you are starting from scratch on new construction, I believe that you choose your reveal and work out form there.
