I'm selling my house (Tampa, Florida). The buyer's inspector said that my roof needed tar/mastic under the bottom row of shingles.
First, is the true (roof was put on around 3 years ago)? Second, if true, can someone explain it to me in DETAIL (I am one of those idiots referred to in all those "...for idiots" books). For example, does the tar/cement go between the starter shingle and the displayed shingle, or does it touch the tar paper? How much tar/how wide a bead? How far back on the shingle? Etc.
