In reply to Roofing question - ridge vents by Pat Moore on September 9th, 1997 06:48 PM [Go to top of thread]

Had new roof professionally installed two years ago today. Noticed dripping on floor yesterday. Roofer was here today and found that the whole roof is wet inside the attic. Went onto the roof and found moisture running down the shingles along the whole length of the ridge vent. Roofer isn't sure what the problem is.

Outside temp 34`.
Heating house with wood stove.
House is rancher with cathedral ceilings on one slope of the house.
House has full length ridge vent.
There are gable vents on each end of the house.

Also, what is difference between R19 and R22 insulation?

I really appreciate any help I can get on this problem, W. Errickson
