The foundation for a Rock Garden and Waterfall is poured concrete
in which reinforcing rods are embedded. The projecting rods allow
weldment of additional rods to which chicken wire is secured.
The artificial rocks are made by mixing the following ingredients:
a) 1 part of cement
b) 2 parts of mortar mix
c) 5 parts of sharp sand
d) 2 cups of powdered detergent.
The first coat must be thicker to allow trolling onto the chicken
wire. After the first coat has set, thin down the mixture so that
it is soupy. Using a plaster sraying rig, apply coat after coat,
(Approximetely 4 to 5 coats) until a 1 to 2 inch thickness is
obtained. (allow each coat to set inbetween sprayings.)
Colored powder may be added to change the finished rock appearance.
Note: Adjustment of the spraying rig nozzle will change the texture
of each rock.
