I have just had 700 sq ft of robbins "top of the line" maple engineered flooring installed in a newly constructed house. It was glued dowdn directly on the concrete slab, and immediately showed "overwood" at the end joints. They are big enough to trip over, and jagged enough to catch the fibers on a dust mop. The factory rep checked it out, and indicated all the lousy joints were within factory tolerance, and I got just what I paid for...when I suggested he sold a lousy product if this was the best it would do, he didn't take it well. Needless to say, they made it worse by trying to fix it, and I had to hire an independent inspector. He thinks the installation was poor, and they should probably do it over. I am still waiting for his report.
I will post another follow up when there is news.
