Barbara - yes - repaint the base coat. Let it dry for a few days and redo the leather technique.

A tip - make sure your room is as cool as possible - 60 degrees or cooler is best. Turn off all heat - and don't use any halogen work lights.

Keeping the room cool will keep the glaze wet longer - which will make it easier to ensure yu don't get lap marks.
