Before you rip those old windows out, stop and consider why you bought a +100 year old house in the first place. Your old windows help define the charm and charater of you home. My wife and I were going to replace our 1810 6 over 6 windows with Marvins when we first moved in. Our painter convinced us not to and it's a decision I am glad of every day. The wavy glass and thin muttons are one of the most striking charateristics of our home (and an valuable asset in the old house market). Old windows can be "tuned up" to provide reasonable efficiency. It's your house so it's up to you, but if you still want to unload that old glass to a worthy charity ...
