I would have to say that you must not be a very good tech then if your advise to the homeowner is to spend almost double for a product that well simply put is way too overcomplicated and has a lesser warranty. You opinion is by all means biased to the major brands and I wouldn't doubt that you've even got a commitment with Carrier and you probably have to meet a quota on your monthly sales of Carrier products just to maintain your agreements with them. Janitrol furnaces currently comes with the best factory backed warranty in the industry, and also has the best extended warranty (which is also backed 100% by the manufacturer, not a third party warranty service). Janitrol equipment is by far one of the most reliable, easiest to install and maintain, most inexpensive brands on the market. Their portion of the Us market share for equipment dictates as such, and the only reason United technologies has more market share is because of all the other major brands they've bought out just to maintian their standings in the marketshare. If you break down all the different brand names down and then do a market share analysis, you'd find Goodman at the top of the list. Their warranty claim analysis also dictates as such, Goodman has the best failure rate and warranty exchange rate of all the brands. Goodman is also the largest single person owned company on the market. United technologies is nothing more than stock holders and investors.
