We have a fiberglass tub (one piece) mounted in our bathroom and we would like to replace it since we do not agree with the tub color (egg yolk color). We have called bath fitters who said that it will cost about $3500 to re-fit the current tub since they will have to do a lot of wall work. We recently had a bath tub painter service come in and they said that we are better off by replacing this tub rather than paint it. They were going to charge us about $750. However, they suggested to go to Home Depot and see what can be done. We definitely want to change our bath tub color, however, are having some problems. We did paint over the current tub with white finish using two-part bath tub epoxy paint which after 12 months or so is chipping away.
Please advise urgently.
