Replacing interior doors in old house - need help?

Posted by Matthew on March 27th, 2001 11:27 AM

I just moved into a 1973 ranch house with 36" hollow stained wood interior doors. I want to replace them with the new 6 or 8 panel interior doors. Home Depot sells the door with the jamb (instock) or without jamb (special order). I am thinking of just replacing the door and not the jambs. Is there any reason I should replace the jambs as well? As far as I can tell, the door jambs are still true.
