Replacing interior doors

Posted by Deanna on February 17th, 2002 08:15 AM

Looking for suggestions. My house was built in '78. It was obviously lower-end construction...built on concrete slab...plastic sinks in the bathroom hollow doors throughout. The wood trim is all dark stain and I'm wanting to paint it all white. A huge job, I know, but it will modernize the place and lighten it up a lot.

I've noticed at Home Depot and Lowes, they have white six-panel doors, pre-hung, that are not terribly expensive.

My question is, can the doors be replaced if I have wall to wall carpet? I'm concerned it may ruin the carpet to remove the existing doors/frames and all.

I know this may be a really dumb question, but that's what you guys are here for, right? You've never failed me yet!

TIA for your help
