I just removed 40 tiles and drywall from my shower wall where the water had leaked. When I replace the drywall, does it have to be lined up with a stud(I would have to take off more tiles) or can I use joint compound and/or spackle to join the new to the old. I was going to cut it so it does't line up where I will be putting the tile.OK? I have a lot of water damage, so letting it dry out first. Can I use mastic to attach the tile(I read in HOMETIME PROJECTS that the organic type can't be used where there is water. Is there another type that can be used? thanks, LIZ
