Dear Henry
I'm planning to replace the carpet on my stairs. It came with oak spindles and balusters. So I want to replace the rug with an oak finish of some kind. The method you used to replace the carpet sounds interesting and original, however I'm not sure I can do it. I'm not a carpenter and don't have a lot of tools. I am a handy man though. Is it maybe possible to buy thin oak plywood, say 1/4" thick and cover the steps and risers with the plywood? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks beforehand. Regards...............Sam B.
