Personally, I've never done it before. BUT, if you have, or can manage to get your hands on, your Installation & Care instructions, I'd bet the answer is in there. If it's Pergo, go there. If it's not, go to the 'other guys' WEB site. If you're still at a loss, then try Joe s. on this page. He seems to be a big fan of laminate flooring. He does, however, (in capital letters) recommend a qualified pro for the job. Try and e-mail him directly. Maybe for what you do you don't need a pro. If writing him doesn't work, go to their main Forum at Wood On-Line, and post up there. (DO give the make, model, and such there too.)

If you have no luck there, try Flooring Discussion Board, and post up there. My best to ya and hope this helps.
