replacement faucets for shower

Posted by gmh on September 28th, 2002 02:47 PM

Can you replace the faucets for the shower without ripping out the drywall and replacing the plumbing? The faucets themselves are pretty close to original and the screws holding the knob onto the plumbing keep coming unscrewed i am sure because they are stripped, and the knob that turns on the shower keeps falling off because the screw on that is stripped as well. WE also wanted to replace the shower insert itself and get a tub insert over the old tub. I have heard they can put a new shower stall or liner over the existing one? The one we have now is a plastic insert that is flush with the wall so it actually looks like a plastic wall..... Is this possible? We want to sell our home but also want to make it look nice but are trying to keep the costs down? Any suggestions? P>S> The faucets we have now in the shower leak when the water is on.....
