When a supplier states" Replacement "they are actually referring to replacing the whole window. There is two ways U can do it, sleeve or full replacement. Sleeve leaves your old frame intact, the contractor slides the new unit in...(which should be cheaper) what U loose out on is the amount of glass area. Full replacement requires taking everything out right to original studs. Vinyl is the better way to go less maintenance & if the contractor finishes the outside with aluminum you have virtually no maintenance.
