I need to replace three concrete block walls in a basement. The local contractor gave me a bid but did not include any sill plate anchor bolts. I asked about it and he said you don't need any. By code there should be one every 6 feet. Local codes are not striclty enforced. He also said that to install them the house would have to be raised. It is not practical to do that due to the garage and brickwork. He is going to support the house, maybe raise it 1/8 inch, take out the ld blocks and put in a new wall. Is there a way to install sill plate anchor bolts in a concrete block wall without raising the house?? Thanks.
