In reply to repairing fiberglass tub, painting countertops, and painting a range hood? possible? by MSPless on June 3rd, 2001 11:52 PM [Go to top of thread]

The fiberglass tub can be repaired. Being an old sailboat enthusiast. I have repaired many of holes in the sides from things I have hit. You can repair this just like that. Go to a boat repair place and get the stuff. Should be a two part mix, a matting, and paint. This will work, but the patch area will show due to the color difference in the final painting.

Your counter top can be painted, matter of fact, I have a friend that does this for a living. He has had remarkable results in marbeling, faux finishes and just about anything. there is even a special non porus finish approved by the FDA for the top coat.

The oven ventahood, sand it and use bondo found at a car repair body shop. You can fix this just like they repair car body parts.

Consult them for details.

Remember, prep is 95% of the job.
