My current home had a slight water leak that leaked onto a small portion of our hardwood flooring. After several weeks the wood on a 2' X 2' spot looks like it is starting to warp. The finish does not feel the same as the rest of the floor. (almost as if no finish at all). The wood in this spot seems very dry some blacking is starting to appear. Also you can feel the cracks in the wood between the boards.
What can I do to fix this small spot? Can I just put
a new coat of finish over the wood? Do I have to remove or sand the boards? I would like to do the least costly method. I also hope to stop any further warping.
