I am trying to remove the tub spout installed in my bathroom. My problem is if I use to much torque I could perhaps break the copper tubing to which it mounts. It is a screw on type. I have heated water and poured on the spout but I still cannot get it to move. The need for the removal is that I find water is leaking through the interface between the spout and the tile wall. At least it appears that this is my problem. Any suggestions as to how I can remove the spout. I am willing to use a hack saw if nesessary. I just do not want to cut the region at which the threads are located.
