Hi Paul,

Having no luck with other methods, I'd look at using a Dremel or similar tool to cut through the nut.

Depending on what type of nut this is & exactly how it is part of or abuts to finished surfaces of the faucet, you can make relief cuts into the nut so as not to damage nearby surfaces or threads, and then split the nut by prying from the relief cuts.
