Removing smoke odor with ozone shock

Posted by the202 on October 27th, 2002 01:34 AM

I am looking for anyone who has successfully removed the smell of smoke from their home. Unlike many of the people who have posted on this forum, we have not yet bought our home and are still negotiating a contract. We were able to spend 4 hours in the house recently during a home inspection. It was clear to both of us that the place has a serious problem; the previous owner was a Hard-Core smoker. All the carpet and vinyl is new, and the place has been cleaned but that rancid-disgusting smoker smell still lingers. I have read about all kinds of remedies but it would seem the only way to solve this is to remove the source of the odor rather than treat the symptoms. I am looking at Ozone Shock, has anyone done this? does it really work? Would you not have bought your house knowing what you know now? Does this odor ever go away?

Thanks in advance.
