Try going to your local home center, (Home Depot or Lowes)
in the paint Dept, ask one of the staff to show you product called
"Silicone-Be-Gone" Silicon Sealant Remover made by DAP.

It is a product designed specifically for silicone. It will
dissolve cured silicone, and is also handy for clean up of freshly applied

Make sure you read the lable and Use with proper ventilation.

This should make your job a little easier.
