Removing paint from brick

Posted by John on June 23rd, 1999 10:00 AM

HELP! I am removing white latex paint from an interior brick wall. I had tried several different liquid solvents, which didn’t work very well. The product that I finally ended up using is called Peel Away #1 for concrete and brick. The product works fairly well, but it leaves a good amount of dissolved paint on the surface of the brick. I can’t use a pressure washer, which would be ideal because of the amount of water it would spill. I’ve ended up using a low-pressure high temperature vaporizer machine, which works well but is extremely tedious. Since I have about 600 sq. ft of wall to scrape, I’m looking for ANY ALTERNATIVE, so that I can be finished before the next 100 years passes…..If anyone has ANY suggestions on how I can more efficiently remove this residual paint I would appreciate it.
