Removal of white powder from acoustic ceiling finish

Posted by FELA on July 9th, 2001 02:42 AM

I recently hired a self contractor to spray acoustic finish on ceiling which includes livingroom, kitchen, dining area and main entrance to house. I was told by hired contractor that all furniture would be covered prior to spraying which of course not all was covered and I am still cleaning mess left behind.

My main problem is that I just spent over $1,800 to have tile put in areas mentioned above and floor was not covered prior to spraying thus there was white powder from acoustic finish everywere on grout, I was told not to worry as this would come right off with vinegar and water but this is not so, I have mopped repeatedly to no avail, grout is heavly stained, some areas are white instead of original color (grey). If anyone has come across this problem PLEASE respond.

I'm also trying to get legal advise on this matter.
