Remodeling outside walls

Posted by Kevin on April 13th, 2004 12:04 PM

Hi:

I am starting a remodeling project to my home. I want to add about 5' of river rock around the bottom then vinyl (wood log) type siding the rest the way up. since the BLM has made it illegal to just pick up rocks. and to get river rock shipped to my location is rather costly. I was looking at pouring my footer and then pouring 5' X 4' X 3" slabs and using the river rock stamp to make it look like river rock and some colors to add that red or orange color to them so they look like montana gold river rock. I was thinking of adding a 2" indent with a hole every 16" across the slab at 2' and 4'6" to put screws with washers on them and insert this in the indent holes to attach the slab to the outside wall. I was going to use welded wire for rebar in the slabs. does anyone have any idea if this would work or not? and if I should do something else to make it work better? thanks kevin
