definitely go see an architeck he will do you a set of blueprinets/advise you on your desired changes ,,,cost may be about 4 to 500 dikkars fir gus services BUT will be a necessity....Of course you will need to get an experienced remodeling contractor too....he will give you a bid to do the job per your blueprints ...So get about three separate bids to compare . They will need to pull permits before working too....good luck with whatever you decide to do...We have been thru three remodels on our Ranch.
