Vertical reinforcing is great! however consider making the last and first courses a"Bond beam" adding 20 foot rerods overlapping two feet at each piece, this along with verticals filled at 16 inch intervals will guarantee the wall to be one piece.Cells should be filled with grout(3parts sand and pea gravel-1part portland cement) There is no such thing as overkill in retaining walls! whatever you can afford is what is best! email me for more details.
