reglazing porcelain and tile

I am considering reglazing a porcelain tub and matching tile. I am concerned about the durability of the tub. It will be used daily by two teenagers. On one website I read a warning not to place soap or shampoo bottles on the reglazed surface. On another site I read that you should not leave a bathmat in the tub. So this makes me wonder if it would be damaged if someone dropped a shampoo bottle in the tub while showering. One option I am considering is to have this process done and then if needed have the tub reglazed again in 5-6 years. Does this sound outrageously expensive? I hate the thought of the mess of tearing out the old tub and tile.
