Refinishing individual floor planks

Posted by STELLA LEVY on January 26th, 1999 07:35 PM

We discovered that 4-5 planks of our two year old oak hardwood floors were discolored dark by either water or pet urine under our oriental rug. The planks are oak, two feet by 2 inches and were stained with Minwax's Colonial Maple with a satin finish when new. The stains are not too deep but are black, but no one wants to come in to do just these few. How can I repair this myself or should I bother? I have some minor refinishing under my belt. I realize that they may not look uniform, but it beats looking at them discolored black. Help!
