I disagree that it is not a DIY job. I've done two of them and have been very happy with them. The kits to refinish are very inexpensive and can be found at most good hardware stores.Just follow the directions very carefully.
One of my tubs (a clawfoot) is used everyday. It's been about 3 years, and could be redone again, although it's not badly in need of it yet. It cost me about $12. to do it myself. The proffessional wanted hundreds of dollars.
