refinishing bathtub

Posted by L. Shiroishi on January 31st, 2000 09:27 PM

our bathtub is in terrible condition and we need to get it redone. I have done some inquiring about the refinishing process and a few prices. I have found out that there are two refinishing techniques on the market (I don't want to do it myself). One it the epoxy method as they call it which can be used after 24 hours and will cure in 48 hours (also less expensive than the other finish)and the other one is a synthetic type of refinishing (and more expensive) and takes 3 full days before it can be used after the finishing process. Also, they each claim they are safe, but I have questions on whether the epoxy is safe. The synthetic claims to be better and non-toxic and vice versa. Which is better, safer and is is worth the money, or are they equally the same?
