Refinishing 86 Year Old Pine Floors

Posted by Jennifer White on April 1st, 2003 09:29 AM

I just bought a 1917 home in Texas with Pine floors. Someone told me they were Burly or Curly Pine but I am not sure about that. There is lynoleum in the kitchen and bathroom that I am going to pull up. My question is what would be the best way to get the glue up? Does anybody know of a book I can buy or website I can look at that will take me through the complete refinish process? The floors are in excellant condition with minimal stains and no buckling etc. I have done just about every other home remodel project with few rpoblems and excellant results so I am confident my husband and I can tackle this one. The home is 3000 sq ft so I can't really afford to hire someone to do it with all of the other repairs I am having done... ie: leveling foundation, raising firplaces, straightening roof and reshingling, central heat/ac installed and rewiring.
