reducing the heat register size in bathroom

Posted by Beth Nowikowski on November 6th, 2002 09:59 AM

In a couple of weeks, I am having my bathroom remodelled. I have a very big wall register that is 12" by 12", and which sticks out about 3 inches. I would like to replace the cover with a standard 4" by 12" cover, but will have to replace the part of the duct that connects to the to the register cover and patch the dry wall to make it smaller. I am wondering if I could just pull out this section and replace it with the smaller one? I've looked everywhere on the internet for photos of pieces ductwork is comprised of and have found nothing!! Thanks =)
