Real Stucco Bible

Posted by Neil T. Spalding on September 10th, 2000 11:50 AM

I have been searching every where for a comprehensive, professinal guide or text that takes one through the entire exterior masonry stucco process from applying the
paper and mesh the plaster grounds and stops, the scratch coat, the brown, etc.
I am not interested in How-To articles for stucco repair or the pros and cons of dryvit type systems vs
tradional mortar. There has got to be a "bible", if you will, out there somewhere.
I live on an island in the San Juans off the coast of
WA and the internet is essentially my only means of finding these things.
I am presently in the process of designing a traditional old farmstead on 5 acres on Lummi Isl with barn and classic windmill. Something one might see in one of Eric Sloanes books.
The idea I have is to use stucco on the exterior walls
and somehow give it the appearance of being aged either with the use of acid stain or paint or both.
Could anyone be of assistance in my quest for a stucco
