Re: Wood repair

Posted by Angella Faulk on May 29th, 2001 10:38 AM

we recently built a home and were not able to stain our maple wood cabinets immediately. We just completed this task and noted several marks on the wood once they were stained and varnished. It is apparently hand print marks, water, etc. from touching the bare unprotected wood on a daily basis. Prior to staining the cabinets we put a wood conditioner, then we used Minwax stain (red oak in color) and then a minwax poly. The stains really look bad is there any way we can remove these? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Anxiously awaiting your response. AHF
