Re-plumbing too costly...other ideas?

It looks like I have 1/2 inch pipe to the shower valves and it probably would cost too much to re-plumb since my house is a ranch with plumbing concealed in walls and under a terrazzo floor. (although I will check the cost.)

Would it help for me to raise the water temp in my heater and put in a flow restrictor in the first shower, so that more hot water would be available to the second bath?

Also, any suggestions about using an instant heater in the second bath?
