Have you tried contact United Technologies regarding their control board? It may have been a poor design to begin with and they might have a new part number which supercedes the original board that was installed in your Janitrol. Also control board manufactures will periodically publish field service bulletins when a design flaw becomes apparent. Included in the bulletin is a full description of the problem and the fix and/or upgrade path. I have seen fixes be as simple as adding and or changing out a single capacitor or as complex as the need to upgrade the entire control board out for a new part number. The only problem is generally the tech support department will not give out this kind of info to any Joe off the street but it never hurts to ask. Good Luck!
