Re-glazing bathroom ceramic tiles

Posted by Neil on July 31st, 2001 06:43 PM

We just purchased a new home. We like everything but the dark color tile (chocolate brown) bathroom tiles in the master and guest bathrooms. I've heard they can be re-glazed and for much less cost than replacement. Are there any disadvantages to re-glazing? What about durability? Someone said they use a phosphoric acid in the intial phase and the fumes can be bad enough that you might want to leave the house during the process.
