I SUGGEST you use the Interent and read up on Carpenter Ants. They seek out (usually, but not always, (if I READ it right), soft OR ROTTED WOOD, but they infest to Nest, and multiply quickly. They also do NOT EAT the wood, but rather burrow through it and HAUL OUT the wood chips, thus you find piles of sawdust. I CURRENTLY HAVE THEM IN in 2-3 large old Oaks and suspect I will lose at least one of these this next year at substantial expense. I also have concerns over my house, and guess I may need to report to my pest control company.
