When there is insufficient insulation on ducts, and/or the air flow is lower than can be done, making the ducts cooler, then the ducts sweat when humid air hits the cold duct and makes them collect water.

The fellow telling you to close all your vents is just a madman; it would make the attic hotter and make the ducts possibly hotter, but that is no way to get the job done right.

By code in Florida, ducts SHALL NOT leak air to make the attic cooler. So the correct thing is to increase tha air flow through the ducts to raise the duct temperature over 55F and insulate them better.
