rapid paint failure -- discoloration in less than 3 month

Posted by fred on July 14th, 1998 08:48 PM

We recently applied a primer/sealer over clapboards, followed by a topcoat - both latex. Something is bleading thru the cedar clapboards and discoloring the paint. I do not at know all that was done to the claps before we bought the place. It appears to have been painted Pink, and Brown in it's life, but when we bought it, it was white (which discolored about 3 months after purchase). We assumed that a shoddy paint job had been done, and this year we started repainting. The new paint is discoloring.
