We currently live in a home that was picked up, moved and put on this foundation. There are brackets holding the house to the foundation. There is currently a 5' crawl space under the house. We are wanting to have a basement because we are out growing the home.
What would be the best route to take.

1. Jacking up the frame of the house and building an additional 3'6" frame between the exsisting house and the foundation. Then raising the porches to meet the doors.

2. digging 3'6" below the footings in small sections and building walls down?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
