Hi Guenter, you didn't say whether you were going with hot water or electric heat strips. I don't think either one will hurt Pergo and I'm pretty sure neither one will hurt carpet. So I suppose it comes down to cost and or preference. One thing to consider; carpet is an insulator, Pergo is less so. Ceramic tile or stained concrete would be better from a heat-transfer point of view. Either way,insulate beneath your heat source.
