radiant floor heat leak detection

Posted by margo on June 28th, 1999 01:05 PM

Our mid-50s home has radiant floor heat with copper tubing.
We've discovered we have a leak and need to learn about
leak detection methods. Approx. 3000 sq. ft. are heated
by this method. Any relatively surefire way to narrow
the potential leak area to one room? What methods exist
by which to discover where the leak may be? Our heating
and cooling professional says he believes it's only one
leak based on the amount of time it takes for the water
to disappear. Should we instead pursue an alternative
heat source and give up on the technology?
