Point of interest...

I came across a report in The Journal of Light Construction
by Tennessees's Oak Ridge National Laboratory the results
conclude the following:

2x4 wood 16" oc Clear Wall Value 10.6
R11 batts Whole Wall Value 9.6

2x6 wood 24" oc Clear Wall Value 16.4
R19 batts Whole Wall Value 13.7

6" Foam Core Clear Wall Value 24.7
Whole Wall Value 21.6

3 1/2 " metal studs Clear Wall Value 7.4
16" oc R11 batts Whole Wal Value 6.1

Conclusion: Foam core panels retain 88 % of performance in
whole wal value. 58% better than 2x6 stick framed wall.

Clear Wall Value: Wall section with no windows or doors.

Whole Wall Value: windows and door openings included.
